Tshenolo Ash Resources, a supplier of Fly Ash and a sister company of Tshenolo Waste (Pty) Ltd, is looking to hire a Project Manager who will be responsible for the planning, co-ordinating and managing of all business operations of the Fly Ash Project that Tshenolo Ash Mineral Resources (TAMR) is undertaking for a period of 10 years.

Minimum requirements

  • A Post Graduate Engineering Degree. A Mechanical Engineering qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Registered with a Professional Body.
  • 5- 10 years’ experience Management/ Project Management.
  • Project Management/Management Qualification.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Fly Ash Processes and Operations.
  • Applications and related markets of coal combustion products and its plant management.
  • In-depth NEC contract knowledge.
  • Multidisciplinary management experience.
  • Budgeting/ Financial Management experience.
  • Have safety clearance to enter State Owned Enterprises.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project throughout its life cycle.
  • Realise the strategic vision and coordinate activities for the organisation.
  • Identify, direct, and lead overall strategic project execution.
  • Monitor progress of delivery against strategic goals.
  • Propose continued innovation/ continuous improvement initiatives to realise solutions that meet the company requirements.
  • Identify growth opportunities for TAMR to drive gains in revenue, market share and profitability.
  • Developing long term goals, metrics, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement aimed at enhancing the resiliency of employees.
  • Interpret the SCADA System and report on it.
  • Prepare technical reports for EXCO by generating regular technical and programmatic updates.
  • Provide status and progress reports on the strategic project execution and realisation of strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the contract negotiations.
  • Must be able to travel extensively.
  • Work with the Financial Director on forecasting and securing the budget associated with the scope of the strategic project by performing detailed planning.
  • Managing budgets and ensuring delivery of objectives within budget.
  • Management of overall progress of the project and financial status.
  • Monitor and control the strategic project budget expenditure against the forecast and assume accountability for costs in line with organisational parameters and report to the relevant Project Steering Committee/ Board.
  • Manage demand and resource capacity (planning/ effective utilisation).
  • Stakeholder management and ensuring overall client satisfaction across all areas covered by project.
  • Managing client issues and concerns, effectively dealing with escalation.
  • Providing progress updates to key stakeholders.
  • Investigate and share implementation lessons learnt between stakeholders (ensuring that risks are managed proactively on a strategic project level).
  • Managing the operations team and ensure that set targets are met and procedures are followed.
  • Flexible approach to work, able to manage own priorities and workload.
